Loyola Intensive English Program

Loyola University New Orleans was established in beautiful Uptown New Orleans in 1912.

Loyola’s business and law schools are renowned, and the university offers exceptional programs in Mass Communications, Biology, Sociology, Counseling, Literature, and Music Industry, including the US’s first ever Urban Music program.
CAMPUS LIFE AT LOYOLA
As a student at LIEP, you are considered a member of the Loyola University New Orleans community!
As such, you can visit any campus facilities, including the cafeterias, library, shuttle buses, and student events! You are also a member of the Loyola New Orleans Rec Center, where you can take fitness classes, or use the pool, weight room, track, basketball courts, and sauna!
Student life on campus is safe and comfortable. Living in the residence halls is a great way to improve your English quickly and also become a part of the Loyola community.
Language Classes
LIEP classes are small, to ensure you have very good time and attention from your teachers.
LIEP teachers all have multiple years of experience and Masters Degrees.
LIEP’s schedule keeps you working hard on your English, but also allows free time to explore New Orleans!
Classes are offered at the Intermediate and Advanced level. Contact us if you want to arrange a personal language evaluation with our director!
Institutional TOEFL is given 3 times a year, in May, July, and December. The scores from this test may be used in place of other test scores for admission to Loyola University.
All LIEP students also work with a personal tutor two hours per week to improve their English. Tutors are US university students with interests in culture, travel, business, and music. They can help you feel at home in your campus life and also assist you with your assignments!
HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER CAMPS
In the summer, LIEP welcomes groups of high school students to enjoy an immersive 2-week language and culture camp.
Students and their chaperones live on campus, and all meals and excursions are arranged to ensure a one of a kind experience!

Sessions, Housing, and Meals
LIEP has regular Full and Half-Semester Sessions in the Fall and Spring. Summer classes are offered for 8 or 4-week sessions.

LIEP Tuition

The prices listed are for Full-time study (20 hours per week plus 2 hours per week private tutoring). Part-time study options are available as well.
Fall or Spring Semester (15 Weeks): $4750
Half Semester (7-8 Weeks): $2375
4-Week Summer Session: $1188

Housing and Meal Plans

It is possible for LIEP students to live in Loyola University Residence Halls. There are double rooms (with US roommates), single rooms (limited) and apartment-style suites.
Meal plans allow you to enjoy your meals in Loyola’s Orleans Room cafeteria or in many restaurants on and around campus.
Music, Food, and Festivals
It’s easy to visit New Orleans’ many historic neighborhoods and famous landmarks on the streetcar! It stops directly in front of campus and travels through the beautiful Garden District to the French Quarter – the most famous New Orleans’ destination!
Hear live musicians in restaurants or on the street every day of the week!
Take in a Mardi Gras parade (or several)!
See the New Orleans’ Saints play football at the Superdome! Or our NBA team, the Pelicans, play world-class basketball!
Enjoy the delightful cuisine of New Orleans! From fine dining with celebrity chefs to small, family owned cafés, you will never be disappointed with the food culture of the city!
Take a tour or just walk around with a camera! The French Quarter is one of the oldest, most romantic, most mysterious, and most unique places in all of the United States!
